About

The Hanover Food Pantry has been helping families in need since 1992. Our volunteers draw from the membership of five participating churches, the Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors, and town citizens. Food is donated at weekly church collections, school and food drives, supermarket donation sites, and several community organizational contributions. We also accept donations directly - please see our donation page for more information on how you can donate to the pantry. Monetary gifts from local businesses and families help us meet the needs of our clients.

In the fall of 2021, we moved into an unused wing of the old Sylvester School building in the town center. This new space includes a gathering room for clients to wait while their orders are filled as well as our “Book Nook” area where visitors can browse through donated books to take home and enjoy. There is a nice selection of adult fiction as well as children’s books. There are bathrooms available and coffee while waiting. Volunteers assist clients with heavy grocery bags to their vehicles. With the recent addition of a ramp, we are now accessible to all Hanover residents. A parking area in the rear of the building provides privacy and easy access to the covered entrance on the right side of the building.

We are grateful to have served Hanover for over 30 years and look forward to all we can do together over the next 30 years.

More space in the Sylvester School allows for greater amounts of food to be stored to help more families in need
